2nd week almost over

Well, we were going to watch Grey's but it's a re-run...so I guess we'll give a little update...Tuesday we had our altitude chamber ride which Teri precluded to on her last post. It was quite the experience, the profile went something like this...up to 5000ft then back down to make sure you can clear your ears and sinuses...then you breathe 100%O2 for 30 min to clear the nitrogen out of your system and minimize any decompression sickness you may develop...after that we go up to 35,000 ft at a rate of 12,000 ft per min...once their you come back down to 25,000 and you remove your mask to figure out what symptoms you have when you become hypoxic(this is the whole point of doing the flight....you need to be able to recognize your symptoms and correct for them so you don't pass out like Paine Stewart's crew did and kill yourself) after that they do some other things and then we do a rapid decompression which was pretty sweet...the air gets all the moisture squeezed out and you see a fog develop and the pressure difference pushes you right out of your seat!!!pretty cool.... we also had our second test (on survival) and I scored a 95%...Wednesday...we had lunch with the Wing Commander Col Gerber and all the other Group Commander's...Teri and I really enjoyed it...then we went back to class and started flying fundamentals (I've had most of this stuff at Western so it's a lot of review...not too tough) so far it's been a lot of Computer based training and it's a short unit...the test is on Monday...Today it was more flying fundamentals and we met our gaining flight commanders...this was not very much fun...they came in yelling and we had to do a boldface(written out emergency procedures) in 5 min...no small task...and they were yipping about different things, basically they just want you to know who is incharge....whatever...Tomorrow we have a PT test and a review for the test on Monday...also Teri's parents are coming to visit us for about a week starting Saturday, so we're very excited to see them!!!
