1 Week Down

Well the 1st week of pilot training is over...We certainly appreciate all the interest in the site...Let's see...Wednesday...we did our parasailing and it was a lot of fun! First they take you up about 100 feet and let you fall down pretty slowly so you can get used to the landings...little do you know they are videotaping the landings and of course when I land I get "Sir, what was that?" anyways Teri said I have to keep this shorter....so the next time they take you up to 300 feet and let you fall down...Thursday we had a bunch of lectures and we got a chance to experience the blarney chair...you sit in this chair and they spin you around and make you do different things so you experience spatial disorientation. Thursday night we had our pilot partner welcome dinner...we got free pizza and met the pilot partners for the class (pilot partners are 2 local businesses that team up and sponsor our class throughout training...they are their to answer your questions and they buy our first pair of wings for the graduation ceremony) Our pilot partners are: Olde Tyme Wine and Liqueur and Bobs Body Shop...Friday... we had our first test in physiology in the afternoon and everyone passed!!! (I scored 100% so i'm off to a great start) we also got the privilege of sitting in the altitude chamber working the various switches of the O2 regulator and just getting used to the mask which after about 5 min kinda sucks...supposedly it gets better as you go up in altitude...after the test (since we are the baby class) we had to be over at assignment night pouring the beer (assignment night is where the class 2 weeks before graduation find out what they are going to be doing after they graduate) It's really cool because the students don't have any clue until this night...well now its the weekend, time to relax a little bit...take care
