Well, Teri made it back to Mississippi safe and sound!!! I'm very excited!!! We just wanted to say congratulations to Jeff and Sonja and also to Brian and Megan for taking the vows this weekend (sorry I couldn't make it to your weddings guys) We wish you the very best time on your honeymoons!!!
Things have been pretty crazy here...back to the 12 hour days...we hit the flight line on Wednesday and we had our first flights (dollar rides)...the T-1 is a lot faster then the T-37 and there are all kinds of sweet TV screens to play with...moving map displays and weather radar...it was awesome...the airplane actually accelerates in idle while taxing...and when we took off it through me back in my seat...it's going to be an awesome airplane to fly....the missions are twice as long as they used to be in the tweet...right now we are in the transition phase of training, after this comes navigation and then mission familiarization...typically 2 students go up with one instructor, the first student takes off and flys to the practice area to do steep turns, stalls, etc and then the second student (sitting in the jump seat right behind the pilots) switches seats with the first student and does all his area work...then we go to other airports surrounding Columbus AFB to each practice our patterns and then fly back home...all said'n done, 3.2 hours from takeoff to landing...and then we have to debrief...it's getting us used to the longer missions of the transport/tanker track...Hope everyone is doing well back home, and we'll see you in a couple months!!!
