Seattle Trip

Joe and I spent last weekend in Seattle, WA. What a great getaway!! We went to the Pike's Place and bought some fresh fish, shopped around downtown, and took a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island...just like on Grey's Anatomy! I even bought some Seattle Grace scrubs!! We even had a surprise snow storm Friday night, but it was gone the next morning for our friends wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, the vacation had to end, but Joe is back in Washington State near Spokane for water and SERE training (Survival-Escape-Resistance-Evasion). He'll be there until May 17th and we'll be leaving for California on the 19th...it'll be here before we know it. On another note...there was a plane crash on base yesterday afternoon. And for the first time since 1984, it was fatal. Both pilots left behind wives and children...one spouse is even 7 months pregnant...just a very sad situation, so please keep them in your prayers. There was a very somber mood around the base today. In a small place like this, everyone is affected and it's something that we all know could happen at any time, but we go day after day with no accidents and we forget about the risks they take everyday.
